Netizens give thumbs up to Kolkata Police's new meme featuring Messi's WC penalty miss

Kolkata, June 25 (IBNS):  A meme created by Kolkata Police, featuring Argentina's soccer star Lionel Messi and his missed penalty during a World Cup match against Iceland recently, gained positive response from netizens in the football-crazy east Indian city.

In the meme, one could see the picture of a disappointing moment when Messi failed to convert a penalty against newbie Iceland during the June 16 Group D game of the ongoing World Cup.

On the other end of the image, a traffic sergeant could be seen issuing a fine to penalise a biker who is not wearing a helmet.

The image also had an English caption in it which read: "You'll never miss a penalty. We won't let you!"

The post was first made by the police on its Facebook page on Friday.

The post has so far drawn 5.5k likes and 2452 shares.

It was made to promote the Kolkata Police's 'Safe drive Save Life' campaign.

The campaign has so far received mixed reactions.

The netizens from Kolkata seems to have liked it and appreciated the intiative.

One Samrat Ray wrote on Facebook: " One of the finest campaigns. Just loved it KP."
