NIA arrest two ISIS operatives in ISIS Kerala module case
Kannur/Bengaluru/UNI: NIA on Saturday arrested two people, identified as Mizha Siddeeque and Shifa Harris, both residents of Kerala's Kannur district, for propagating ISIS ideology.
Mizha, who was arrested on August 17, has been accused of radicalising Shifa and her cousin Mushab Anwar and motivating them to join ISIS.
Shifa has been accused of transferring funds to Mohammad Waqar Lone for supporting ISIS activities on the directions of Anwar and Mizha. She was willing to perform Hijra in ISIS-controlled territory to join ISIS.
Mizha had travelled to Tehran along with her associates to join ISIS in Syria.
The NIA arrested her after getting leads from Kerala-based Mohammed Ameen, who was booked suo moto on March 5 by the NIA for running various ISIS propaganda channels on different social media platforms.
Ameen is also accused of radicalising and recruiting new members for the ISIS module. He had instructed Mizha to create a page on Instagram to propagate, motivate, radicalise and recruit gullible Muslim youth for the ISIS.
NIA had registered a suo-moto case on March 5 pertaining to terrorist activities of one Mohammed Ameen, a resident of Kerala and his associates.
The NIA is further investigating the matter.
