NIA probes nexus between Nagalnd govt officials and militants

Guwahati, Oct 13 (IBNS): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has found vital clues of nexus between government officials of Nagaland and militants.

A team of the investigating agency recently questioned few government officials of the North Eastern Indian state in connection with militants.

A top NIA official said that, millions of public money had been diverted to the militants and some government officials were involved it.

“We have found vital clues of nexus between government officials and militants,” the official said.

The NIA has investigated into the diversion of public funds to militants in Nagaland.

The investigating agency also worried about illegal fund collection by NSCN(K) in Nagaland, Assam, Manipur.

“NSCN(K) has continued fund collection from these states after abrogating cease fire agreement last year,” the NIA official said.
