Niranjan Jyoti fails to turn out at rally in Delhi

| | Dec 05, 2014, at 04:55 pm
New Delhi, Dec 5 (IBNS): A public rally to be addressed on Thursday evening by controversial union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti was cancelled at the last minute, media reports said.

Later, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership said Jyoti could not attend because of urgent personal work.

The Union minister of state for food processing industries was scheduled to address a rally in the Raja Bazar area of Gole Market in central Delhi, sources said.

Jyoti’s controversial comments drew flaks from the Opposition parties when she had said in a speech on last Sunday:  “The people of Delhi have to decide if they want a government of Ramzaadon (descendants of Ram) or those who are illegitimately born.”

Later, she also sought apology in both Houses of Parliament on Tuesday amid protests by the Oppositions demanding immediate action against the minister.
