Nirmala Sitharaman, Deve Gowda among early voters in Karnataka
Bengaluru, Apr 18 (UNI): Defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Prime Minister and JDS supremo H.D. Deve Gowda were among the early voters in the second phase of the Lok Sabha polls taking place across the country today.
In Karnataka, candidates are fighting it out for 14 Lok Sabha seats today.
Overnight showers in Bangalore and south Karnataka helped bring down the heat as voters voters started arriving early at the polling booths. However, as the polling began on a brisk note, the mercury also started increasing and voters were seen standing in queues near the polling booths.
Prominent personalities who voted today morning are Mysore royal family member Yaduveera Krishnadatta Wodeyar, former foreign minister S.M. Krishna, former Karnataka CM B.S .Yeddyurappa and spin legend Anil Kumble.
Police sources said polling was picking up and it was continuing peacefully.
