No such plan to reimpose total lockdown: Indian govt tweets on viral social media message

New Delhi/IBNS: The Indian government on Sunday rejected social media messages which claimed that total strict lockdown might be imposed in the country soon amid growing COVID-19 cases.

"Claim: A viral message on social media claiming reimposition of strict Lockdown. #PibFactCheck: #FakeNews. There is no such plan under consideration. Please Beware of Rumour mongers," PIB Fact Check tweeted.

Meanwhile, besides imposing lockdown till June 30, the Indian government has also started the unlocking process to bring back normalcy to regular life to a greater extent.

The death toll due to the disease in India now stands at 9195.

While there are 149348 active cases in the country, 162378 people have recovered from the disease.
