None of you deserve hearing: SC on 'leak' in CBI case
New Delhi, Nov 20 (IBNS): Adjourning the hearing of on-leave Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) chief Alok Verma's petition till Nov 29, the Supreme Court on Tuesday fumed over the reported "leak" of a vigilance report on corruption allegations against Verma, media reports said.
Verma had moved the top court challenging the Centre's decision to remove him.
"None of you deserves a hearing," Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has been quoted by NDTV.
The Supreme Court on Friday asked Verma to respond by Monday to the Central Vigilance Commission's report on the charges of corruption against him, media reports said.
The court refused the request of Verma's deputy Rakesh Asthana's request for a copy of the vigilance report against his boss.
Asthana, Special Director, had written to the government and the vigilance chief accusing his boss of taking bribe from a businessman on the CBI's scanner..
Asthana had also accused the CBI director of not sharing crucial intelligence inputs against two industrialists with other agencies, and missing the name of a senior railway official from the FIR filed in the railway hotel scam involving Lalu Yadav's family.
Alok Verma had accused Mr Asthana of taking bribe from the same businessman and had launched an investigation against the special director.
