Odisha govt begins swab collection of suspected people in capital city for COVID-19 testing

Bhubaneswar/UNI:The  Odisha government has roped in five schools in the capital city to conduct mass collection of sample swab for COVID-19 testing.

Official  sources  said  the Jharpada primary school, Chandrasekhar (BDA) Govt.High School, Sahid Nagar Govt. High School, Ganda Munda UG School and Nayapalli Mamataz Ali High School have been identified as centres for swab collections.

The  Khordha district education officer has been asked to open these schools from today till 17th April 2020 to enable the  medical teams to collect samples ( swab tests) from  the suspected persons for COVID-19 test.

Two teachers  of the school and an attendant will work with the medical teams in the collection of swab test.

The blood and swab samples will be collected from people who have the travel history and those who have come in contact with COVID-19 positive  patients.

The state  government has declared 11 containment  zones in Bhubaneswar after COVID-19 positive cases reported  form these areas.

All these  zones had already been sealed and sanitized by the local authority with the  help of the  Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and  Fire  Brigade personnel.
