Odisha: One held by STF for possessing fake Indian currency
Bhubaneswar: A person has been arrested for illegal possession of fake Indian currency by the Odisha Crime Branch's Special Task Force (STF).
On Thursday, an STF agent arrested 50-year-old Lingaraj Behera of Kantamal under Kegaon police station in Kalahandi district near the main gate of Titlagarh Bus Stand park.
Over Rs 31 lakh of fake Indian currency and other incriminating items were recovered from his possession by the STF.
The seized FICN Notes will be sent to Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Pvt. Ltd., Mudrana Nagar, Salaboni, Pachima Medinapore, West Bengal for examination and opinion.
Lingaraj was forwarded to the court of SDJM, Titilagarh. A case has been registered U/s 420/468/471/489-A/489-B/489- C/489-D/120(B) IPC was registered against the accused.
