Odisha: Seven killed and more than 25 injured in a road accident in Jharsuguda

Bhubaneswar: As many as seven people were killed and more than 25 injured in a road accident near Sarabahal on the Sambalpur-Jharsuguda Biju Expressway when a coal laden truck rammed into the bus carrying the JSW-BPSL employees on Friday night.

Sources told UNI while four died on the spot , three breathed their last in hospital.

The accident occurred when over 50 employees of the company were returning from their plant at Thelkuli to Jharsuguda the truck first hit two cows then jumped the divider and rammed into the bus.

Soon after the accident local people rescued the victims and rushed them to hospital.

Sources said while six of the seriously injured were rushed to VIMSAR, Burla, 18 were discharged after primary treatment and four undergoing treatment in District headquarter hospital.

District Collector and senior officers of the plant have reached the hospital and are looking after the treatment of the injured.
