Odisha: Two killed as Goods Train derail in Korei station
Bhubaneswar/UNI: Two persons were killed and several others injured as eight bogies of a Goods Train got derailed at Korai Station in Bhadrak-Kapilas Road Railway Section under Khurda Road Railway Division of East Coast Railway in Odisha on Monday morning.
East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources said both the lines are blocked due to the derailment and the Railway Station Building also damaged in the derailment.
ECoR Public Relation Officer Nirakar Das said two deaths have been ascertained and there is expectation of further injuries.
He said the Accident Relief Train and Accident Relief Medical Team are ordered to reach the site immediately.
The DRM Khurda Road along with other Branch officers have rushed to the accident spot for repurcation work.
Eight Wagons of a Goods Train from Dongoaposi moving towards Chhatarpur got derailed at about 6:44 am.
Das said the train services may be affected partially in this route and some trains have been controlled enroute.
Efforts are on to clear at least one track for smooth movement of the trains on the route.
