Opposition alliance with each other, our alliance with 1.25 crore Indians: Narendra Modi

New Delhi, Jan 20 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday asserted that the BJP should not be bothered by the grand alliance because while its members have made alliance with each other, the ruling party at the Centre was in an alliance with the people of India.

Answering a question on how to deal with the grand alliance against the BJP during an interaction with party workers, Modi said: "They have made an alliance with each other. We have an alliance with 1.25 crore countrymen, their dreams, their hopes and aspirations."

"We are dedicated to them," he said in his signature fashion.

Stating that there was a clear difference between the alliance partners and the BJP, he said: "You might have noticed that on the stage in Kolkata, most of the leaders were either the son of a tall leaders or are trying to set up their wards."

"On the one side is the power of money, on our side is the power of the people. On the one side these people are trying to either save or increase their family while we are building the country," he said, adding the country was the BJP's family.

"The people who indulge in violence even if someone contests against them in panchayat elections are singing songs of saving democracy today," Modi mocked. "Those who don't have democracy in their own party are talking about democracy in the country and fooling the people."

Modi said the alliance members were already making excuses of defeat by blaming electronic voting machines.

During his speech in Kolkata on Saturday, NC's Farooq Abdullah had slammed the voting machines and said paper ballots should be brought back. The other alliance members supported him.

Modi also did not forget to mention how Loktantrik Janata Dal leader Sharad Yadav said Bofors by mistake when he was talking about the Rafale issue. "The truth comes out in the end," he said.

He said the grand alliance was a unique alliance of "naamdaars", family members, corruption and scams.
