Srinagar, Oct 9 (IBNS): Pakistan-based Jaish Mohammad militant outfit's Chief Operational Commander for Kashmir killed in an encounter with forces in Baramulla town of North JKashmir on Monday, police said.

According to reports, forces laid siege in Ladoora village of Rafiabad Baramulla after receiving inputs about movements of some militants including
JEM top commander.

“When search party entered into the village suspected militants fired on forces ensuing fierce gunfight resulting death of operational chief of Jaish-e Muhammad militant outfit Abu Khalid,” said police officer to IBNS in Srinagar.

Some reports suggest that Khalid couldn’t flee because of the injury and died due to blood loss after taking refuge in a school building.

Kashmir Police chief Muneer Khan said that Khalid was the operational chief of Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit.

“He was the brain behind recent Fidayeen attacks,” said Khan.
