Pakistan: JEM chief Maulana Masood Azhar's brother arrested

Islamabad, Mar 5 (IBNS): Pakistan has arrested  brother of Jaish-i-Mohammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar, media reports said.

He is among the 44 people arrested by the Pakistani security forces, reports said.

As per The News International report, State Minister for Information Minister Shehryar Afiri said at a  press conference that the action is not result of any pressure.

Mufti Abdur Rauf is the brother of Maulana Azhar and Hammad Azhar.

"Secretary Interior said dossier shared by Indian government with Pakistan also contained names of   Mufti Abdur  Rauf and Hammad Azhar," reported The News International.

Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir tweeted: "Interior Minister @ShehryarAfridi1 announced that 44 members of banned outfits including Mufti Abdul Rauf (brother of Masood Azhar )arrested Pakistan taking this action not on foreign pressure but in our interest this action will continue for two weeks."

Jaish-e-Mohammed  has been in the news in recent times over the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama area which left 40 Indian CRPF personnel killed.

India has handed over to Pakistan a dossier with "specific details of the JeM complicity" in Pulwama attack.
