Srinagar/UNI: A massive search operation is underway on Thursday in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir where a militant and a soldier were injured in fighting a day earlier.

The gun battle erupted on Wednesday between militants and security forces at Wanseeran Taripora in the Kandi belt in Baramulla.

“A Pakistani terrorist who was injured in the gunfight is still trapped in the area and a massive search operation is going on,” Additional Director General of Police Vijay Kumar said on Thursday. “ One army soldier was also injured.”

The gunfight broke out in a forest area on Wednesday afternoon when security forces were carrying out operations.

After the initial exchange of fire, there has been no fresh contact with the militants.
