PM Modi arrives in Madhya Pradesh capital
Bhopal/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal for a day’s visit on Saturday.
A special IAF plane carrying the Prime Minister touched down at approximately 9:30 am.
He was received at the State Hangar by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other select dignitaries.
Subsequently, Modi departed in a convoy of three Army helicopters for the Lal Parade Ground from where he left by road for the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre – a short distance away – for addressing the valedictory session of the Army’s three-day Combined Commanders Conference.
He was welcomed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and top officers.
The Conference is off limits to the press.
After 3 pm, the Prime Minister is scheduled to reach the Rani Kamalapati Station where he shall flag off Madhya Pradesh’s maiden Bhopal-Hazrat Nizamuddin (Delhi) Vande Bharat Express.
Modi will then head for the Hangar from where he shall return to the national capital by air.
Bhopal has been converted into a veritable citadel owing to the security bandobast in view of the prime ministerial visit.
