PM Modi attends opening of Commonwealth Summit in London

London, Apr 19 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday attended the opening of Commonwealth Summit in Buckingham Palace in London, the capital city of the United Kingdom (UK).

Modi was accompanied by UK Prime Minister Theresa May, Queen Elizabeth and other leaders of the commonwealth countries.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted to say, "Towards a common, fairer, secure, sustainable and prosperous future! PM @narendramodi with Her Majesty the Queen, UK Prime Minister @theresa_may and other leaders of Commonwealth countries at the formal opening of the Summit at Buckingham Palace."

Modi, who is on a three-nation visit, is presently in the UK.

Earlier Modi met both May and Queen Elizabeth separately.

Modi arrived in London after ending his trip to Sweden.

Modi will next visit Germany.
