PM Modi greets nation on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha

New Delhi, Sep 2 (IBNS); Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted the people of India on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha.

"Best wishes on Id-ul-Zuha. May the spirit of harmony, brotherhood and togetherness be furthered in our society," the Prime Minister's tweet read.

Eid-al-Adha or Id-ul-Zuha is also known as Bakrid in the Indian subcontinent.

A predominantly Muslim festival, Bakrid is observed with ritualistic prayers along with the sacrifice of a either of the following: a goat, cow, sheep, camel or a buffalo.
