PM Modi greets people on Dhanteras

New Delhi, Nov 9 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted the people of India on the occasion of Dhanteras.

Modi wrote on Twitter: "Dhanteras greetings to all of you. I pray that this very special day brings prosperity,happiness & good health in everyone's lives."

Dhanteras, a Hindu festival, is the first day of the five day Diwali festival predominantly celebrated in India.

As the name suggests, 'Dhan' means Gold and 'Teras' is the number 13, as this day falls on the 13th day of the month, according to the Hindu calendar.
