PM Modi likely to reshuffle cabinet soon: Reports
New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to expand his cabinet for the first time during his second term, a move speculatively factoring in Assembly polls in five states next year and the 2024 national election, media reports said.
The shuffle is expected in a day or two and may induct Jyotiraditya Scindia to an important portfolio, whose defection from the Congress last year helped the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) take back Madhya Pradesh.
The new cabinet might also include Sarbananda Sonowal, who made way for Himanta Biswa Sarma as Assam Chief Minister after the BJP won a second term.
Names have been shortlisted after a month-long review in which PM Modi assessed the performance of various ministries.
