PM Modi mourns TMC MP Renuka Sinha's demise

New Delhi, Aug 18 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday mourned the demise of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) MP Renuka Sinha.

"Pained on the demise of @AITCofficial MP, Renuka Sinha. My thoughts are with her family & supporters. May her soul rest in peace: PM," PMO India tweeted.

Sinha, a member of parliament to the Lok Sabha from Cooch Behar, West Bengal, died on Wednesday following a heart stroke, reports said.

Following her demise, West Bengal Chief Minister and AITC supremo Mamata Banerjee tweeted, "Very saddened. Our sitting Lok Sabha MP from Cooch Behar Renuka Sinha passed away. Deepest condolences to her family. Rest in Peace."

Sinha was 67 at the time of her death.
