New Delhi/IBNS: Surprising his countrymen and most importantly netizens, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he is thinking of giving up his social media accounts.

PM Modi, who is one of the most-followed world leaders on social media, is yet to take a final call on the matter.

In a tweet on Monday, the PM wrote: "This Sunday, thinking of giving up my social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & YouTube. Will keep you all posted."

Soon after he wrote this on Twitter, it was liked by 15,000 users and was retweeted over 5000 times.

His post also received response from Congress leader and his fierce opponent Rahul Gandhi who asked the PM to give up hatred instead of social media accounts.

Right now Modi has 53.3 million followers on Twitter and 44 million follow him on Facebook.

PM Modi has over 30 million followers on Instagram while US President Donald Trump currently has 14.9 million followers.
