PM Narendra Modi conferred with Papua New Guinea's highest civilian honour

Port Moresby: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Monday conferred Papua New Guinea’s highest civilian honour, the Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu (GCL), by PNG Governor-General Sir Bob Dadae.

Prime Minister Modi said he is humbled by the gesture, and that the award is a great recognition of India and the accomplishments of the Indian people.

“Humbled by the gesture of Papua New Guinea of conferring me with the Companion of the Order of Logohu. Gratitude to Governor General Sir Bob Dadae for presenting the award. This is a great recognition of India and the accomplishments of our people.”

MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi in a tweet said: “An honour emblematic of depth of Indai-PNG relationship."

“Governor-General Sir Bob Dadae of Papua New Guinea conferred PM @narendramodi with country's highest civilian award, Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu (GCL)," he said.
