PM receives personal belongings of Sardar Patel

New Delhi, Oct 31 (IBNS): On the occasion of 139th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, received some of the Sardar`s personal belongings from Sheila Ghatate, of Manjiri Trust, Delhi.

These items, including plates, cups and saucers etc used by Sardar Patel, had been willed to Ghatate by Shri Bipin Dahyabhai Patel, grandson of Sardar Patel, and his wife Lui.

The Prime Minister said the items constituted a unique part of India`s heritage. He added that appropriate arrangements would be made for their storage and preservation.

Narendra Modi-led NDA government has decided to celebrate Sardar Patel's birth anniversary as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or "National Unity Day".
