PM unable to answer on jobs: Rahul Gandhi after having face-off with Harsh Vardhan in Lok Sabha

New Delhi/IBNS: Following a face-off with Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan who tried to attack Rahul Gandhi over his "danda on Prime Minister" remark in Parliament on Friday, the Congress leader attacked Narendra Modi saying the latter was unable to address the issue of unemployment.

The face-off between Harsh Vardhan and several Congress leader broke out in the Lok Sabha after the former, while replying to Gandhi's question related to health, referred to the statement where the Congress leader had said youth of the country will beat up Narendra Modi with sticks if he fails to address the issue of unemployment.

Before answering Gandhi's question, Vardhan said, ".. I am surprised that Mr. Gandhi's own father was the Prime Minister of India and I don't think that in the worst of cases our party leaders make such outlandish personal remarks against him ever threatening that the youth will beat him with dandas and throw him out of the country...," leading Congress Lok Sabha leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and his colleagues to protest against the Union Minister.

Outside Parliament, Gandhi told media, "We were not allowed to speak. When I wanted to ask something, Health Minister was saying something else."

"The Prime Minister gave a long speech yesterday. He spoke about Jawaharlal Nehru, Pakistan, Congress but was unable to answer on what he is doing to give jobs to the youngsters who want employment," he added.

Reiterating his words in a tweet, Gandhi later said, "The orchestrated ruckus in Parliament today was designed to prevent me from questioning the Govt. The youth of India can clearly see that the PM has no clue about how to tackle the unemployment crisis. To protect him, the BJP will keep disrupting Parliament, preventing debate."

How Modi responded to Gandhi's 'danda' remark

Responding to Gandhi's remark, Prime Minister Modi during his long address to Lok Sabha on Thursday said he will make his back stronger by doing more "Surya Namaskar".

The Prime Minister wittily said, "I heard an Opposition MP saying- we will beat Modi with sticks in 6 months. I have also decided to do more Surya Namaskar. This will make my back even stronger to face abuses. In any case, I have been abused so much for the last two decades, their negativity hardly matters."
