PMs of India and Bangladesh, along with Bengal CM, inaugurate connectivity projects between the two countries

Kolkata/New Delhi, Nov 9 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, jointly inaugurated a series of connectivity projects between India and Bangladesh, on Thursday.

The dignitaries flagged off the inaugural run of the Bandhan Express between Kolkata (India) and Khulna (Bangladesh).

Other projects included the second Bhairab and Titas Railway Bridges, and the International Rail Passenger Terminus at Chitpur in Kolkata.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj also joined the event from New Delhi.

The inauguration was done through video conferencing.

Speaking in Hindi, Prime Minister Modi said, "Development and connectivity are linked together. Today, we have taken a few more strides forward to strengthen the historical links shared by the two countries, especially between the people of West Bengal and Bangladesh."
