Political merry-go-round: Arvind Kejriwal extends support to Delhi Lt.Gov. Najeeb Jung

New Delhi, Sept 26 (IBNS) In the crooked path of politics Delhi's Lietenant Governor Najeeb Jung has found an unlikely supporter in Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the man with whom he has been engaged with a bitter tussle over primacy.

"Sh Najeeb Jung is a good man with bad political bosses," Kejriwal tweeted on Saturday morning, leaving many dumbstruck, but showing amply the AAP chief's swiftness to  seize an opportunity, especially after two BJP MPs attacked the Lieutenant Governor with bitter words.

In a series of tweets, Kejriwal praised Jung and accused the Narendra Modi government at the Centre for the crisis. His support for Jung is being seen as a clever move by him to embarrass the BJP.

"Congress n BJP both demanding Sh Najeeb Jung's removal? Strange. Is he at fault? No. He is doin what PMO is asking him to do," Kejriwal said.

"Removing him will not help. His successor wud also do same if PMO kept interfering. Real solution is PMO shud stop interfering in Delhi," he said.

Kejriwal's tweets came in the wake of the attacks on Jung by BJP MPs from Delhi - Udit Raj and Mahesh Giri -  who called him the new 'king' of Delhi who has no time for the MPs.

Since he took over as Chief Minister of Delhi, Kejriwal has been at loggerheads with Jung attacking him almost everyday on various issues, including appointment of senior bureaucrats.

The issue even reached to the court, especially after the BJP government at the Centre stood by Jung, prompting Kejriwal to allege that the Modi administration is out to interfere with the functioning of an elected government through the Lieutenant Governor.

In a semi-state like Delhi, the Lieutenant Governor wields enormous powers that has caused the chagrin of Kejriwal who has been demanding statehood for Delhi and full authority of his AAP government that came to power following a landslide victory.
