Post-poll violence claims one life in Odisha

Kendrapara, Odisha, Apr 20 (IBNS): One person died and four others were injured in a post-poll related violence between Biju Janta Dal (BJD) and Congress workers on Sunday in Kendrapara district of Odisha, reports said.
In a separate incident, a block development officer (BDO) was beaten up by political workers after he was found with a demo EVM machines in his house a day after the polling. 
 
The mob reportedly thought that the official was tampering with the EVMs which was later confirmed to be only demo EVMs.
 
Following the incidents, Section 144 has been imposed in the entire Kendrapara district for four days.
 
The state went to the final phase of Lok Sabha polls on Apr 17.
