Prashant Kishor hits out at Congress leadership over absence from CAA protests
Patna/IBNS: Poll strategist and JD(U) leader Prashant Kishor on Saturday took a swipe at the Congress' top leadership saying that the party had been "largely absent" from the CAA agiation which has continued to rock the various parts of the nation for two week straight.
Kishor, who runs the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) held responsible for BJP's victor in 2014 general elections, was reacting on Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi's statement accusing the Centre of brute repression of agiation against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
"Congress is not on (the) streets and its top leadership has been largely absent in the citizens' fight against CAA-NRC. The least (the) party could do i(s) to make ALL Congress CMs join other CMs who have said that they will not allow NRC in their states," Kishor wrote on his twitter handle.
"Or else these statements (referring to those by Ms Gandhi) means nothing," he added.

In a television address, on Friday, criticising the Centre for oppressing the agitation over NRC and CAA, Sonia Gandhi had said, "This is unacceptable in a democracy".
While Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was seen leading only one protest march to India Gate, her brother Rahul Gandhi had been criticized for his ill-timed trip to South Korea. Both the senior Congress leaders failed to lead the struggle from front even as the other Opposition parties and organisations against the Centre's decision have led massive protests.
As always, the Congress was quick in countering barbs against the Gandhis. One of the national social media coordinators for the Congress Lavanya Ballal accused Kishor of being "spineless" for his role in helping Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP to power in five years ago
Rashtriya Janata Dal, a long term ally of Congress, also attacked Kishor for his remark.
"You sold (your) soul, WHAT (has) ur Turncoat leader, party president and Chameleon Bihar CM has done regarding it? If you have problem with it they why don't you resign from JDU. Nitish Kumar said in a TV interview that you are a BJP agent forcefully appointed as Nitish's VP," the RJD hit out.
