President congratulates ISRO on successful launch of PSLV-C35
In a message to A.S. Kiran Kumar, Chairman of ISRO, the President has said, “My heartiest congratulations to you and your entire team at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for the successful launch of PSLV-C35, carrying advanced satellite SCATSAT-1 along with seven other co-passenger satellites from Algeria, Canada, USA and two from India."
"I understand that SCATSAT-1 will help provide wind vector data products for weather forecasting cyclone detection and tracking services to the users. The nation is proud of this important achievement which is a significant milestone in the progress of our space capabilities," he said.
"Kindly convey my greetings to the members of your team of scientists, engineers, technologists and all others associated with this great mission. I wish the ISRO continued success in the coming years," Mukherjee added.
India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, in its thirty-seventh flight (PSLV-C35), launched the 371 kg SCATSAT-1 for ocean and weather related studies and seven co-passenger satellites into polar Sun Synchronous Orbit (SSO) on Monday.
Co-passenger satellites are from Algeria, Canada and USA as well as two satellites from Indian Universities or Academic Institute.
