President Pranab Mukherjee congratulates Ameenah Gurib-Fakim

New Delhi, June 8 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday congratulated Ameenah Gurib-Fakim on her election as the President of the Republic of Mauritius.

In his message to Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, the President has said, “It gives me great pleasure to extend my sincere felicitations to you on your election as President of the Republic of Mauritius."

"India and Mauritius share unique and fraternal ties, based on shared history, culture and democratic values,"  he said.

"I look forward to working with you to further strengthen these ties. Please accept, Excellency, my best wishes for success in the discharge of your high responsibilities as well as your personal health and well being," Mukherjee said.
