Priyanka Gandhi will contest in LS polls if Congress wants

Lucknow, Mar 27 (IBNS): Congress leader and  AICC General secretary in-charge for Uttar Pradesh east Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday said she is ready to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections if her party wants so.

However, no formal decision on the matter has been taken yet.

On being asked whether she would like to contest, she told reporters: "Why not?"

When she was pressed further, she said: "If the Congress asks me to contest polls then I will definitely do so."

The first phase of the Lok Sabha election will begin on Apr 11. The election will continue in seven phases till May 19.

The poll results will be declared on May 23.
