Hyderabad/IBNS: Telugu superstar Allu Arjun's lawyer has slammed the authorities for causing delay in releasing the actor from jail where he had to stay overnight despite the bail order from the court.

Allu Arjun, who was arrested over the death of a woman in the stampede that occurred during the premiere show of Pushpa 2: The Rule, walked out of the jail early morning on Saturday.

Slamming the delay, Allu Arjun's lawyer Ashok Reddy told media, "They received an order copy from High Court but despite that, they didn't release the accused ... they will have to answer...this is illegal detention, we will take legal action...as of now he has been released..."

Allu Arjun was granted bail, hours after he was sent to a 14-day judicial remand in connection with the case.

He was released on a personal bond of Rs. 50,000.

"I am a law abiding citizen. I respect the law. I will cooperate... Once again, I would like to give my condolences to the family.

"It's (the death of the woman) very unfortunate. It was totally unintentional. We are very sorry for whatever has happened. It's purely out of my personal control," the 41-year-old actor with a massive fan base said after the release.

The Chikkadpally Police had registered a criminal case against Allu Arjun, his security team and the theatre house management after the victim's husband had lodged a complaint.

The chaos broke out at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad's RTC Crossroads at around 10:30 pm on December 4 night when a massive crowd rushed to the theatre to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun, who was also present at the screening.

Revathi, 39, came to the theatre with her husband and two children from Dilsukhnagar to attend the premiere show.

Revathi was rushed to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries while her young son, who was also wounded, is in critical condition at the clinic.

As per reports, the crowd barged into the theatre as Allu Arjun arrived.

A number of people tried to get closer to their favourite star who was guarded by heavy security.

Police also had to lathicharge to disperse the crowd that had turned unruly.

Later, Allu Arjun waved at his fans from the sun roof of his car where he was escorted safely by his security.

Allu Arjun grieved the woman's death and announced a monetary support of Rs. 25 lakh for the family.

Allu posted on X, "Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I want to assure them they are not alone in this pain and will meet the family personally.

"While respecting their need for space to grieve, I stand committed to extend every possible assistance to help them navigate through this challenging journey."

Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is the sequel to the 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise.

The second installment features Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in the lead alongside Allu Arjun, who charged Rs. 300 crore as his remuneration, the highest by an Indian actor.
