Rahul Gandhi pays homage to soldiers on Vijay Diwas

New Delhi, Dec 16 (IBNS): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday paid homage to martyred soldiers on the occasion of Vijay Diwas.

"On Vijay Diwas my tribute to the martyrs of the 1971 war.We honour today the courage& sacrifice of those who defend our freedom each day," his tweet read.

Vijay Diwas marks the military victory of Indian soldiers over their Pakistani counterparts during the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971.

It is annually celebrated on Dec 16 in India.
