Kolkata, June 11 (IBNS): CESC and Kolkata Police officials conducted a raid on the house of the alleged kingpin of a power theft racket in Kolkata's Topsia area on Tuesday.

The raid was carried out at 92B Topsia Road, Kolkata 700039. The accused is absconding.

CESC sources said that four meters which the accused had procured in his and his other family members’ names had been sealed. A case has been initiated in Yousuf’s name at Tiljala police station.

Yousuf has  earlier been arrested in many criminal cases but he has used his clout to escape serious punishment every time. He is known in the locality for his proximity to senior leaders of the ruling Trinamool Congress.

He has, on several occasions, been seen sharing frame and stage with leaders of the party.
