Rajnath Singh to attend Fidel Castro's funeral in Cuba

New Delhi, Nov 29 (IBNS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Cuba to attend former Cuban President Fidel Castro's funeral.

"Leaving New Delhi for Havana. Shall attend the funeral of towering Cuban leader Fidel Castro with the Indian delegation &pay tributes to him," Singh's tweet read.

Castro, 90, breathed his last on Friday.

The news was confirmed by his brother Raul Castro, the Cuban President.

Communism poster boy for decades, throughout his life, Castro received polarising reviews from his admirers, who praised him for giving back the country to the people while others criticised him for his brutal way of supressing opposition.

He ruled for almost five decades, before handing over reigns to his brother Raul.
