Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal announces platform 'Insaaf' to fight injustice

He urged the opposition party leaders and chief ministers, as well as others, to join him in his efforts to combat the prevalent injustices in the country.

Sibal declared that he will organise a public gathering of the 'Insaaf' platform at Jantar Mantar on March 11.

During this event, he plans to present a fresh perspective on India.

Sibal has extended an open invitation to all, including opposition leaders and the general public, to attend the gathering.

"Will give a new vision of India, a positive agenda. Main koi Modi ji ko criticise nahi karne baitha, main unko sudhaar doonga (I am not here to criticise Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but will reform him)," he said at a press conference at his residence, according to a report in the media.

Kapil Sibal alleged that injustice is widespread across India, affecting various aspects of society. He alleged that citizens, institutions, political opposition, journalists, teachers, and small and medium-sized businesses are all subject to injustice.

"We have started a website 'Insaaf ke Sipahi' where anyone can register. This will be a national level platform where lawyers will be at the forefront," the former Congress leader said, the report stated.

"It is with great deliberation that I have decided that people need to be awakened and asked to become our 'Insaaf ke Sipahi' and wherever injustice is happening, they should fight it. I want all Opposition chief ministers and leaders to support me in this endeavour and we start a national movement to free ourselves from this slavery," he said.

According to the news, Kapil Sibal stated that he plans to collaborate with opposition leaders and parties to combat injustice in the country. However, he emphasized that his intentions are not politically motivated but rather focused on upholding constitutional values.

"The RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) shakhas spread their ideology in every locality and that ideology also gives rise to injustice in certain cases. We will fight that injustice also. We want that in every nook and corner of the country 'insaaf ke sipahi' stand up and fight," Sibal was quoted as saying in the report.

Kapil Sibal mentioned that he would like the Congress party to be a part of the initiative, but he clarified that his objective is to create a people's movement and not to establish a new political party. He stated that the initiative will bring together ordinary citizens and lawyers to collectively fight against injustice prevailing in the country.

Sibal criticised the current BJP-led government at the Centre, alleging that it is actively attempting to eliminate political opposition. He further accused the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of working in collusion with the government to achieve this objective, likening the relationship between the two as that of "valentines."

"In 2018, 190 million people were poor and in 2022, the number of poor increased to 350 million," he said.

"The government valentine is ED. You put it behind anyone and coerce that person. CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) still needs the nod of the state government but not the ED," the senior advocate pointed out.

"The fact of the matter is that we are in a situation where we see a government versus the citizens. We want a government for citizens not versus citizens," Kapil Sibal asserted, according to the report
