Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday met USA National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan when they discussed issues aiming to deepen bilateral, regional and global cooperation.

"Delighted to meet US NSA @JakeSullivan46 in New Delhi today morning," Jaishankar wrote on X after the meeting.

He further said, " Continued our ongoing discussions on deepening bilateral, regional and global cooperation. Valued the openness of our conversations in the last four years. Appreciated his personal contribution to forging a closer and stronger partnership."

Sullivan arrived in India just days after Jaishankar visited the USA for a six-day trip.

This was the last high-profile visit of a US official before President Joe Biden's tenure ends.

Donald Trump, who registered a thumping victory in the US Presidential polls, will take over as President on January 20.
