Sacrifices by JKP for defending sovereignty of country make us proud : LG Sinha

Srinagar, Aug 14 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said selfless sacrifice in defending the sovereignty of the country by Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) has made us proud.

“Ashok Chakra, Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra and 257 gallantry medals to JKP at the forefront of fight against terrorism is commendable,” Sinha said.

In a tweet on the official Twitter handle of LG Sinha said, "Proud of bravery and sacrifices made by Jammu and Kashmir Police in defending the sovereignty of the country. Ashok Chakra, Kirti Chakra, Shaurya Chakra and 257 police gallantry medals to JKP at the forefront of fight against terrorism is commendable”.

He further said, “Babu Ram, ASI has been selected for this year's Ashok Chakra (posthumous), Altaf Hussain Bhat, Constable,won Kirti Chakra(posthumous), Shahbaz Ahmad,SPO has been selected for Shaurya Chakra (posthumous) for their act of bravery,valour & selfless sacrifice for motherland.”
