Saradha scam: Ramesh Gandhi sent to CBI custody till Sept 11

Kolkata, Sep 8 (IBNS): A Kolkata court on Tuesday sent Kolkata-based businessman Ramesh Gandhi to the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) custody for three days.

The CBI on Monday evening arrested businessman and the owner of the Rainbow Productions Ramesh Gandhi from his residence in Kolkata's Tollygung area in connection with the multi-crore rupees Saradha chit fund scam.

He was produced in the Alipore court on Tuesday and granting CBI's appeal, judge sent Gandhi to the CBI custody till Sept 11.

He will be produced in the same court on Sept 11.

He has been taken to CBI's office at CGO Complex in Kolkata's Salt Lake area for further interrogation.

Ramesh Gandhi was allegedly associated with Saradha owner Sudipta Sen and as many as 9 crore rupees were allegedly transferred to his account from Saradha chit fund group.
