Sasikala surrenders

Bengaluru, Feb 15 (IBNS): Sasikala surrendered before the Bengaluru court on Wednesday.

Court peoceedings have commenced, reports said.

Her supporters have reportedly clashed with the police.

AIADMK leader VK Sasikala, who was all geared up to take over as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu and don the mantle of late J Jayalalithaa, has been convicted by the Supreme Court in corruption cases dating back to 1990s, ending her campaign for the coveted post.

The Supreme Court refused to entertain Sasikala's plea seeking more time to surrender for undergoing jail term in the disproportionate assets case.
