Senior TMC leader Iqbal Ahmed seeks time to appear before CBI regarding Narada sting operation

Kolkata, Jun 10 (IBNS): Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Iqbal Ahmed, on Saturday, sought a week's time to appear before the CBI team regarding his alleged association with the Narada scam, according to media reports.

Iqbal Ahmed, the deputy mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation was served a notice on June 8 by the CBI for appearing on June 10.

However, he failed to appear before the CBI on Saturday citing 'ill health', media reports said.

Media reports quoting the CBI said that Ahmed's name has cropped up several times in the clippings of the Narada sting operation.
