Sharad Pawar meets Rahul Gandhi, discusses Lok Sabha poll strategy

| @indiablooms | Jan 09, 2019, at 09:25 pm

New Delhi, Jan 9 (IBNS): Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Wednesday met Congress president Rahul Gandhi to discuss strategy to fight the upcoming Lok Sabha election, which will be held in less than 100 days.

Pawar met Rahul in presence of senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and NCP leader Praful Patel.

The NCP chief tweeted, "Had a fruitful discussion with Shri @RahulGandhi, President @INCIndia to strategise the future course of action for the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections."

The Congress and NCP might fight together in the upcoming General Elections, in a bid to keep the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) out of power.

The two parties, according to several media reports, might contest in 20 seats each in Maharashtra.

In Uttar Pradesh, the Congress, however, has been ignored by the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), which are reportedly forming an alliance to dethrone the saffron brigade.
