New Delhi, Jun 4 (UNI): Welcoming the Aam Aadmi party government's scheme to provide free metro and bus travel to women, actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha on Tuesday said it is fantastic initiative for women commuters and suggested that project should start on great revolutionary and reformer leader Jai Prakash Narayan's birthday.

He said the AAP government's initiative will encourage women to use public transport.

Sinha termed the AAP government's initiative as an innovative step in the era of women empowerment for the safety and convenience.

In a series of tweets, the actor turned politician said, ''The most famous& popular duo Arvind @ArvindKejriwal CM, Delhi & Deputy CM, Delhi @msisodia have once again come out with a fantastic initiative for women commuters. This landmark accomplishment to make travel free for women by busses & metro is highly appreciated & commendable. This also encourage women to use public transport."

"A humble suggestion if this super project could be started on the great revolutionary & reformer leader# Jai Prakash Narain's birthday. I'm famous or infamous for calling a spade a spade & giving credit where it is due," the actor-politician added.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government on Monday announced the proposal to introduce free travel for women on Delhi's public transport.

Mr Kejriwal said these measures would improve women's safety in the national capital.

However, the AAP government is yet to clearly state how the decision will be implemented and has invited suggestions from people.
