New Delhi: The victim of the urination incident in the Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh has requested the release of the accused involved in the act, media reports said.

The accused, Pravesh Shukla, was arrested by the MP Police after a video of the incident went viral.

In a surprising turn of events, the victim has urged the government to release Shukla, stating that he believes Shukla has realized his mistake.

The victim, Dashmat Rawat, who belongs to a tribal community, admitted that he was subjected to the humiliating act and said Shukla is a Pandit of their village.

Rawat also mentioned that apart from the construction of a road in the village, he has no further demands from the government.

It is worth noting that Assembly polls are scheduled in Madhya Pradesh later this year.

In response to the incident, the state government demolished Shukla's alleged illegal portion of the house.

After the video went viral, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday personally apologized to the victim. He invited to him to his official residence and washed his feet as a gesture of special request.

The government has provided financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the victim and an additional Rs 1.5 lakh for the construction of his house.

The accused, Shukla, is currently in jail and has been charged under various sections, including the National Security Act and SC/ST Act.
