Sonia Gandhi turns 72, senior politicians wish her
New Delhi, Dec 9 (IBNS): Several opposition leaders met ex-Congress president Sonia Gandhi and wished her on birthday.
Sonia Gandhi turned 72.
DMK president MK Stalin, M Kanimozhi and A Raja were among the opposition leaders who met Gandhi and wished her on the special date of the year.
Sonia Gandhi's son Rahul Gandhi shared an image of the meeting on his Twitter page.
He captioned the image as: "Shri Stalin & senior members of the DMK, visited Sonia Ji in Delhi today, to wish her on her birthday. We had a warm & cordial meeting & discussed a range of issues. I look forward to continuing our dialogue & to strengthening our alliance, that has stood the test of time. "
Several political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, wished her by tweeting.
Indian PM Narendra Modi posted: "Best wishes to Smt. Sonia Gandhi Ji on her birthday. I pray for her long and healthy life."
West Bengal CM tweeted: "My best wishes on your birthday Sonia Gandhi Ji. I pray for your long life and happiness in all you do."
Ex-Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah remarked: "Here’s wishing Sonia Gandhi ji a very happy birthday, good health & a long life in the service of the nation. Many happy returns of the day ma’am."
Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh wished Sonia Gandhi and shared: "My best wishes to you Smt Sonia Gandhi Ji on your birthday. May you have a healthy and prosperous life and may you continue to guide us all with your leadership for many more years to come. #HappyBirthdaySoniaGandhi."
