Southern polls: Voting begins in TN, P'cherry and Kerala, PM Modi urges voters to be a part of the festival of democracy

New Delhi, May 16 (IBNS) Voting is currently underway in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry, to elect a new government.

In a single phase, voters across Puducherry is exercising their rights in 30 constituencies, while polling is on for 140 constituencies in Kerala.

The Tamil Nadu polls will seal the fates of 234 candidates.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday urged the voters of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry to come out in record numbers and be a part of the festival of democracy, ahead of their assembly elections today.

"Urging all voters in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry to vote in record numbers today & be a part of this festival of democracy," the PM tweeted.
