Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will not contest Lok Sabha polls

Indore, MP, Apr 5 (UNI/IBNS) Outgoing Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, who represents Indore as a Bharatiya Janata Party parliamentarian, announced on Friday that she shall not contest this general election.

“In the light of this, the party may take its decision with an independent mind and without inhibition,” she averred in a letter released to media.

Voting for the Lok Sabha polls is all set to start from Apr 11.

The last phase of voting in the seven-phase  Lok Sabha polls will take place on May 19.

Counting of votes will take place 23.
