'Speed breaker Didi' can't sleep after two phases of polls: Narendra Modi in Mamata's turf

Buniadpur, Apr 20 (IBNS): Escalating voice against his rival Trinamool Congress at its bastion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday exuded confidence in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s success in the Lok Sabha polls saying West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee can't sleep after the first two phases of elections.

"The report of first and second phases of elections in Bengal ran speed breaker Didi sleepless," Modi, the main campaigner for the BJP, said at Buniadpur rally in West Bengal's South Dinajpur district.

He also alleged it is because of the report, which is indicating Trinamool's defeat, Mamata, who heads the Trinamool Congress, is attacking the BJP workers.

Why Mamata Banerjee is speed breaker to Narendra Modi?

In a rally in West Bengal days ago, Modi reasoned out why he could not help in the development of West Bengal in the same pace as he did in other parts of the country.

"We have launched a number of developmental schemes but people of Bengal are not benefiting from them because Didi (Mamata Banerjee) is acting as a speed breaker," the Prime Minister had then said.

Modi raises corruption issue in Buniadpur today

Though he skipped the issue in Siliguri and Kolkata rallies earlier, the BJP leader came hard upon Mamata for allegedly backing those who are involved in corruption.

"First, all hard earned money of poor people were looted by Saradha, Naradha and Rose Valley. Then Didi made all corrupt leaders MPs and ministers" Modi said.

In the Saradha and Rose Valley chit fund scams, a line of top level Trinamool leaders are accused. In Naradha sting footage, veteran Trinamool MPs like Saugata Roy, Kakali Ghosh Dastidar were seen accepting money.

Interestingly, former Trinamool number two Mukul Roy, who is also an accused in the Saradha scam and was seen in the Narada footage, is now a BJP's prominent leader in the state.

The Prime Minister on Saturday also linked the corruption issue with the Balakot air strike, which was conducted by the Indian Air Force as a response to Feb 14 Pulwama terror attack that had killed at least 40 Indian paramilitary personnel.

"When our brave sons killed terrorists by entering Pakistan, Didi was one of them who asked for proofs of the airstrike," Modi said.

Narendra Modi brings up employment issue

At a time Mamata is attacking the Modi government for not providing two crore jobs per year in last 60 months, the Prime Minister attacked the Trinamool government exactly on the same issue.

"Didi does not give jobs to all those students who have cracked examinations. She has money to feed her goons but not for paying DA to government employees," said Modi flaying the West Bengal Chief Minister three days ahead of the third phase of General Elections.
