Hyderabad/UNI: Chief of Air Staff Vivek Ram Chaudhari on Saturday said that the standoff with China in Eastern Ladakh is still continuing and it is ready to enhance the presence of troops if need arises.

Addressing a press conference at Air Force Academy (AFA) at Dundigal on the outskirts of the city, the Air Chief Marshal, to a question, said that the status quo with regard to deployment of forces in the region continue and the disengagement had taken place in certain areas in Eastern Ladakh.

But the complete disengagement at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China has not taken place, he said.

“We are prepared to take on any challenge that may face us within the shortest notice period”, he said if necessary the deployment of troops would be increased.

Speaking on Drones threat, the IAF Chief said now Drones is a new form of threat being faced. It is a big challenge at present to be able to protect Each and Every vital point from drone threats.

However, we are procuring a large number of anti-drone systems in both—hard skill and soft skill options. We are giving a lot of encouragement to the startup companies and small players to come up with anti-drone solutions. As of now we also got some good players to supply anti-drone solutions, the Air Chief Marshal added.
